Solterra Resort began construction in 2013 and has continually developed over the years. Today, it is one of the most popular choices when it comes to villa communities in the Sunshine State.
You will find Solterra Resort in the picturesque area of Davenport. This is a popular choice due to its proximity to Orlando’s major attractions, including Walt Disney World. But aside from the theme parks being close by, the city of Davenport has much to offer holidaymakers too. Connect with nature in Lake Marion Creek, home to 8,000 acres of wooded swamp. With hiking and biking trails, fishing and abundant wildlife, there’s plenty to see and do here.
The Davenport area is also blessed with numerous lakes, where you can fish or take to the water with a variety of watersport rentals. Plus, any keen golfers can tee off at the 18-hole, Providence Golf Course. Designed by renowned golf course architect, Mike Dasher, the course runs through a scenic setting of freshwater creeks and woodlands. Then head to the fantastic on-site restaurant for a filling meal afterwards. Davenport is also within easy reach of shopping malls, restaurants, and nightlife. So, if you’re looking for things to do on your days away from Solterra Resort, you won’t be short on options in Davenport and the surrounding areas
Solterra Resort is around 20 miles from Universal Studios, taking approximately 40 minutes to drive. The simplest way to get there is by taking the I-4 road east, following signs for Universal Orlando Resort. Be aware of when you set off as peak times for travel may add significantly to your journey time.
Once you arrive at Universal, there is ample parking available. Prices can range from $27 (for around two hours) all the way up to $75. So, if you do want to save on any petrol and parking costs, you might want to opt for a rideshare or taxi service. Uber and Lyft apps, which can be downloaded to any smartphone, are commonly used across the state, and offer a hassle-free way to get to your destination.
If you’re looking to tick off any other theme parks on route, this can be easily done. For example, SeaWorld is actually on the way to Universal Resort, taking slightly less of a drive to get to.
From Solterra Resort, it is around an 18-minute drive to Walt Disney World. Of course, you will need to be aware that times may vary due to traffic conditions on the day, so always be prepared to leave a little extra time to get there. Taking the I-4 road east to World Drive will take you directly to the main parking gate of Magic Kingdom.
Car hire is always a good option when you’re looking for the freedom to make plans at your own pace. Plus, you may want that extra car boot space for all those Disney souvenirs you pick up along the way.
