Orlando Highlights
Orlando is world-famous for its family-friendly attractions, not to mention a certain big-eared mouse! From lively theme parks to glorious natural environments and fantastic dining and shopping experiences to out-of-this world entertainment, Orlando delivers an unforgettable holiday for every member of the family.
Theme Parks
Orlando is the proud home of two of the world’s biggest theme park resorts: Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, as well as many thrilling entertainment attractions and water parks. Charming millions of visitors each year to Florida, the parks are constantly evolving with new, state-of-the-art rides and experiences to wow and delight visitors young and old.
World-Class Shopping
For many, boutique and outlet shopping trips make up a huge portion of Orlando holidays, and whether you’re planning on taking advantage of incredible discounts like in the infamous Black Friday Sales, or you’re simply looking to add to your Disney souvenir collection, your retail needs will be satisfied beyond measure!
Excellent Dining
There are thousands of places to eat and drink in Orlando, so you can dine somewhere different every time you get hungry. The parks and resorts are filled with marvellous themed eateries to try from cool and casual to Michelin-starred fine dining, while the range of restaurants on offer in the popular tourist areas and shopping malls is second to none.
The Great Outdoors
Despite the chaos of the city, there are many opportunities to get back to nature and escape the throngs of tourists. Head outwards from Downtown Orlando and admire crystalline spring waters, miles and miles of nature trails, an abundance of native wildlife and discover the Floridians’ deep commitment to the protection of the natural world.
San Francisco Highlights
San Francisco is known for many things and lends itself to several nicknames including ‘The Golden Gate City’, ‘The City of Fog’, and ‘The City by the Bay’. And with its welcoming locals and wonderful laid-back vibes, this is the city that has it all.
Superb Shopping
Whether you’re after some quirky one-off clothing items or some high-end designer gear, San Francisco has it all. Head to Union Square if you’re in the mood for a spending spree – or perhaps just some window shopping if you’ve understandably spent all your money on burritos. And for a splash of 60s nostalgia, take a trip to the colourful streets of Haight-Ashbury and purchase a pair of those flares you’ve always wanted!
Amazing Food Scene
San Francisco is a foodie’s paradise and known worldwide for its culinary creativity and delicious food innovations, which have been influenced by the cultures and flavours of the waves of immigrants settling in the city over the decades. Give your tastebuds a party and try classic dishes like Mission-style burritos, clam chowder and the delectable ‘cioppino’, a mouthwatering Italian-American fish stew that typically includes Dungeness crab, shrimp, mussels, scallops, squid and more.
Iconic Landmarks
San Francisco showcases its pride and progress through its many must-see historic landmarks. From wandering the former island prison of Alcatraz to cycling amongst the clouds along the Golden Gate Bridge and riding the old-charm cable cars that glide through the streets - your days in San Francisco will be equally unique and magical.
Great Beaches
It might not be the best place to swim on California’s Pacific Coast, but San Francisco’s beaches are beautiful, brisk, and built for walks, paddling, sunbathing, and soaking up casual city vibes during your downtime. Dotted around the Bay are swathes of pretty sands, hiking trails, historic ruins and secluded coves for breathing in that crisp ocean air – and with stunning Golden Gate Bridge views, there are few more enticing spots to spend your days.

Orlando & San Francisco Holiday FAQs
Orlando & San Francisco Holiday FAQs
Orlando & San Francisco Holiday FAQs
Spring is the perfect time to plan your Orlando and San Francisco multi-centre holiday, with comfortable temperatures for exploring. March sees Orlando reach 26°C, rising to 29°C in April and 31°C in May, while San Francisco is a little cooler, hovering around 17°C-18°C throughout spring.
Not only will you avoid the crowds and the sweltering summer heat by visiting in spring, you’ll also miss the hurricane season that runs from 1st June to 30th November in Florida.
If you’re planning a break later in the year, November is a great time to visit. Although the hurricane season lasts through November in Orlando, most hit by October, and you’ll enjoy cooler temperatures than peak summer and more wallet-friendly prices than popular winter. Autumn marks a sweet spot for visiting San Francisco, too, with the weather often warmer between September and November than it is during summer.
Orlando is generally 5 hours behind the UK, observing Eastern Standard Time (EST), while California is 8 hours behind, observing Pacific Standard Time (PST). However, if you’re travelling in March or November, look out for when their time zones change to Eastern Daylight Time and Pacific Daylight Time, as US clocks go forward or backward an hour on different Sundays than in the UK.
UK travellers can fly directly into Orlando International Airport (MCO) from London Gatwick (LGW), London Heathrow (LHR), or Manchester Airport (MAN), making it an easy start to your multi-centre holiday to Orlando and San Francisco.
For San Francisco, fly into San Francisco International (SFO) with a non-stop flight from Heathrow, or embark on a one-stop journey from Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, or Edinburgh.
If you need flight advice for your multi-centre holiday, just ask our team of USA experts.
Orlando is on the other side of the United States from San Francisco, approximately 2,800 miles. The best way to travel between the destinations is via plane, with daily flights between the cities and a journey time of around 6 hours.
We are delighted to offer guaranteed prices up to 36 months ahead of your multi-centre itinerary. Simply secure your package with an initial low deposit today and you can pay the remainder in affordable monthly instalments.
On multi-centre holidays to Orlando and Miami, one of our top things to do is check out the incredible theme parks — after all, Orlando is known as the Theme Park Capital of the World!
First, head to Walt Disney World, where magical theme parks and fun-filled water parks await. Explore the enchanting Magic Kingdom, enjoy up-close encounters at the Animal Kingdom, watch movies come to life at Hollywood Studios, or discover the science-filled Epcot. And don’t forget a change of clothes; you’re bound to get wet at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon!
We also highly recommend a visit to Universal Studios, where you can cast spells with a wand like Harry Potter™, become a mischievous Minion for the day, or embark on an adventure with E.T. There’s also a water park at Volcano Bay, with thrilling water slides and serene waterfalls.
Let us know what you fancy, and we’ll help you create a bespoke theme park itinerary. Want to visit just Orlando? You can view all our Orlando multi-centre holidays here.
We highly recommend booking your Disney tickets in advance, not only to save money (and get organised!), but also so you can enjoy the exclusive benefits that being prepared has to offer. For example, if you buy a 14-Day Magic Ticket, you can visit multiple theme parks on the same day with Park Hopper, tee up at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course, and get unlimited downloads of your family photos with Memory Maker.
We firmly believe multi-centre holidays to Orlando and San Francisco wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the famous Golden Gate Bridge. To best enjoy it, get up early and head to the bridge at dawn, where you can catch the incredible sunrise and see fewer crowds. Not an early riser? No problem, you can walk the 1.3-mile bridge at any time, day or night.
If you love history, we recommend the twice-weekly free walking tours offered by San Francisco City Guides. You can discover the on-site exhibits, too.
Both sides of the Bridge lay within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, where you can extend your day by hiking picturesque trails and discovering incredible vista points. In fact, the area is well worth a visit even if you don’t plan on walking the bridge itself!
If you only have time for a couple of day trips during your Orlando and San Francisco multi-centre holiday, we recommend Alcatraz and Muir Woods, both easily accessible from San Francisco.
Make your first stop Alcatraz Island, where you can explore the notorious former maximum-security prison and discover stories from the inmates, plus hide in the cells. The island is reached by boat - which is almost as much fun as the destination itself - boasting incredible views of the bay in the short 12-15-minute journey.
Your second trip is Muir Woods, less than an hour outside San Francisco. Here, you’ll see California’s famous giant redwoods and embark on one of the many great family-friendly hiking trails. There’s a short 30-minute loop that’s great for little legs, as well as more accessible trails for those with a pram.
Why not stay a little longer in San Francisco to pack in all the activities? Plan a trip to just San Francisco and discover our San Francisco multi-centre holidays here.
Orlando is a shopper’s paradise, with a huge range of options to suit every budget. From malls and designer enclaves to indie boutiques and flea markets, you’ll find it all.
If you only plan on one shopping trip, head to the world-class Mall at Millenia, located just 10 minutes from Universal Orlando. Here, you’ll discover over 150 eateries and stores, with everything from Apple and Burberry to Victoria’s Secret.
Searching for the best souvenirs to take home to loved ones? Visit Disney Springs where you can shop in the world’s largest Disney store or shop big brands like LEGO.
From designer brands to affordable thrift shops, San Francisco has an eclectic shopping scene with stores to suit every budget. Head to Pier 39, one of the city’s most popular waterfront shopping destinations, where over 50 stores await, offering everything from jewellery to clothing. Plus, the views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz make an amazing backdrop for your mid-shop pit-stop at one of the delicious eateries!
Union Square is also worth visiting, with its mix of high-end designers and high street brands, as well as upscale department stores such as Barney’s and Saks. In fact, this is known as the shopping hub of San Francisco, so you know you’re in the right place!
Many San Francisco neighbourhoods are famed for their great shopping, too; head to Hayes Valley and explore its high-end boutiques or visit the cutting-edge Mission District, where you can discover emerging brands.
