Los Angeles & Cancun Holidays FAQs
Los Angeles & Cancun Holidays FAQs
Los Angeles & Cancun Holidays FAQs
The spring months (March to May) and during fall (September to November) are some of the best times to explore Los Angeles. If long queues and fully-booked restaurants aren’t your idea of fun, then visiting over these periods will suit you better - you’ll be outside of the peak tourist season (summer!) and you’ll get to take in this divine, sophisticated, fun-filled city at your own pace.
It’s a relatively similar situation in Cancun - the best time to visit is during the dry season, between late November right through to April. This way, you’ll enjoy guaranteed sunshine and the forecast will be just right for lots of outdoor exploration.
Los Angeles follows the Pacific Time Zone, while Cancun is in the Eastern Time Zone. This means Cancun is usually 3 hours ahead of Los Angeles - but this can change depending on whether daylight saving time is being observed.
We make it more realistic to book Los Angeles and Cancun multi-centre holidays by providing prices that are valid up to 36 months before your departure date - this means you can set a date and secure your break with our low deposit option. The rest of your balance can be settled over a monthly payment scheme, so you can focus on counting down to the big day!
When planning your long-awaited holiday departure from the UK, you can opt for a direct route to LA from Glasgow, Manchester, London Heathrow, and London Gatwick. If you’re keen to consider a connecting journey, then you’ll be able to explore options such as Edinburgh, Newcastle, and Liverpool.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the main airport for International arrivals and departures - you’ll touch down here when you arrive, and it’ll also be where you begin the second leg of your holiday bound for Cancun.
Got retail therapy on the agenda for your Los Angeles multi-centre trip? You’re in luck, as the city boasts a selection of sublime shopping spots. We’ve rounded up a few must-visit locations for the materialistic amongst us - you’re on holiday, so it’d be rude not to treat yourself!
Put your celebrity-spotting specs on before you take a pleasant stroll down Rodeo Drive - this spot is a renowned favourite amongst the rich and famous. This stretch is adorned with high-end designer stores including Gucci, Prada, and Louis Vuitton. Even if you’ll only be window shopping, it’s worth the trip, as the storefront displays are just as impressive as the contents inside.
Outdoor shopping and entertainment complex, The Grove, is located in the Fairfax District, and shopaholics will be stunned by the selection of stores it has - not to mention restaurants, perfect for a snack once you’ve bagged a few bargains. Tech-savvy shoppers will be delighted to stumble across The Apple Store, where the latest releases are showcased.
If you’re craving a different kind of shopping experience, then just adjacent from The Grove, you’ll find the Original Farmers Market. It has occupied this spot in Los Angeles since 1934, and is home to cream of the crop local foodies and specialty stores. Take your pick from the fresh produce on offer - fuel your wander through the market with a bunch of fresh strawberries.
Those with an eye for quirky finds will be smitten with Melrose Avenue. Famed for its eclectic and trendy shopping scene, the avenue is lined with vintage shops, independent boutiques, and street art - so you’re certain to secure a few Instagram-worthy snaps here.
Located in Santa Monica, Third Street Promenade is a leafy, pedestrianised shopping and dining district. It boasts an extensive range of major retail brands and independent boutiques, so we’d definitely suggest setting a few hours aside for your visit. There’s plenty of family-friendly restaurants when you’ve spent up and you’re in need of a snack - try to find a spot to eat that gives you a great view of the street performers that put on dazzling daily displays!
Whether you’re keen to conquer your fear of heights, craving an adrenaline rush, or on the hunt for some of your favourite fictional characters, LA has you covered with plenty of thrilling theme parks.
People of all ages can embrace the magic of Disney World Resort, just a short drive away in Anaheim, where the stories that shaped your childhood play out in real life! If you’re looking for something with more of a thrill factor, then visit Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier, where amusements soar high into the night sky, before you plunge back down to the ground via gripping twists and turns - the entire pier is illuminated once the sun goes down, too!
While Cancun is certainly known for its upbeat, all-night party scene, it’s also an extremely family-friendly destination and there are many hotels that cater to those travelling with kids. You’ll find a selection of stays that suit your requirements during Cancun multi-centres, whether you’re visiting with tiny toddlers or grown up teenagers - and to make life even easier, many of these options offer the choice of all-inclusive or full board accommodation. Often, the hotels even boast their own schedule of activities especially for children, such as kids' clubs, on-site water parks, and mini discos.
While Cancun is known for its beautiful beaches and resorts, there is a cultural side to the area as well, and it’s definitely worth scoping out during your stay. You can explore the nearby Mayan ruins at Tulum and Chichen Itza. Additionally, Downtown Cancun offers a more authentic Mexican experience with local markets, restaurants, and cultural events.
For the start of your multi-centre holiday in Los Angeles, you’ll need clothes that are comfy enough for long days spent wandering through the sights, shopping, or perhaps jumping on rides at the theme parks. The temperature will definitely dip in the evening, so make sure you’ve packed at least one light jacket.
In Cancun, you’ll likely spend a lot of time by the beach, so make sure you’ve got lots of swimwear options, and bring your goggles if you plan on exploring beneath the waves! Comfortable walking shoes won’t go amiss for both destinations, and it’ll help to prevent pesky blisters from ruining your fun.
