LAS VEGAS & CANCUN HOLIDAYS FAQ
LAS VEGAS & CANCUN HOLIDAYS FAQ
LAS VEGAS & CANCUN HOLIDAYS FAQ
If you want to see the sights in Las Vegas at your own pace, then the best time to visit is mid-spring (March to May) or during autumn (September to November). These multi-centre holidays are actually the perfect combination, because the best time to arrive in Cancun is in the dry season which runs from November to April - so you can plan a trip that avoids the crowds of peak tourism months.
For both destinations, the hottest months of the year are July and August - but these periods are also some of the busiest times for tourism. In the summer months, Las Vegas is known to enjoy temperatures as high as 38°C - but the humidity can make it feel even hotter.
While this period is also the hottest time of the year in Cancun, with highs of 32.5C, it’s worth bearing in mind that it is also the hurricane season - so some inclement weather could be on the cards!
Las Vegas is in the Pacific Time Zone (PT), while Cancun is in the Eastern Standard Time Zone (EST) - this difference means that Cancun is 2 hours ahead of Las Vegas. Your visit might also be impacted by the fact Cancun doesn’t follow Daylight Saving Time, but Las Vegas does - our team will be able to provide further advice on this.
Our Las Vegas and Cancun multi-centre holiday prices can be calculated up to 36 months in advance, and you can secure the cost with a low deposit. The rest of your balance can be paid over a monthly payment scheme, giving you more flexibility in the run up to your trip.
Looking for direct flight options for Las Vegas and Cancun multi-centre holidays? London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester Airport, and Glasgow Airport all offer direct journeys, but other UK airports such as Edinburgh and Newcastle will provide connecting routes.
You’ll touch down in Las Vegas at McCarran International Airport (LAS), and you’ll depart for Cancun from here too - your arrival airport will be Cancun International Airport (CUN). The average flight duration from Las Vegas to Cancun is around 4 hours 29 minutes.
While Las Vegas has an undeniable reputation for its nightlife and casinos, it’s also got an array of family-friendly activities and attractions to explore. There are kid-friendly, interactive museums to scope out, including the Discovery Children's Museum - you’ll find an immersive collection of exhibitions here, spanning art, science and culture, and kids can enjoy a hands-on experience that engages their sense of curiosity.
Kids can marvel at a whole different range of wonders with a visit to the Shark Reef Aquarium (located within the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino). The aquarium is made up of a network of underwater tunnels, where you’ll be surrounded by all kinds of marine life.
Las Vegas is also home to a string of children’s entertainment, with exciting shows that cater to toddlers through to pre-teens. One of the most popular is Cirque du Soleil, a colourful, eccentric performance that is certain to captivate younger audiences. If your little ones will be more impressed by adrenaline rushes and sky-high amusements, make sure you don’t miss out on Adventuredome at Circus Circus - an amusement park with rollercoasters to suit all ages.
Many hotels provide family rooms, and you’ll have no difficulties when it comes to finding a tempting kids menu - so if you’re looking for a different kind of family holiday, this could be perfect!
Las Vegas multi-centre holidays will give you a chance to indulge in some serious retail therapy, and there’s a selection of malls and plazas to visit. The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace boasts an eccentric Roman-themed design and is home to swanky boutiques and upmarket eateries. It’s a prime spot if you’re looking for an extravagant shopping experience, and we’d definitely recommend taking plenty of snaps of the impressive interiors.
Did you know that you can ride a gondola in Las Vegas? Sail from shop to shop along replicas of Venice canals The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, situated in the heart of this opulent city. You’ll find a mixture of designer brands and well-known retailers, so it’s the perfect place to treat yourself.
The Fashion Show Mall is a go-to for tourists visiting Las Vegas, and it's one of the largest shopping destinations in the city, with an extensive range of stores. You’ll find some of the biggest retailers here, along with plenty of eateries conveniently dotted throughout this immense complex - so you can make a pitstop for a snack whenever you fancy!
Finally, Downtown Container Park is a family-friendly open-air shopping and dining complex made from shipping containers, creating an innovative, urban retail park packed with charming speciality shops and independent stores. It’s right in the heart of the city, and we’d definitely suggest taking a wander around.
It goes without saying that Las Vegas is famous for its nightlife, so you can expect a real spectacle if you plan on stepping out onto the main strip once the sun has set. The city offers a wide variety of nightclubs, bars, and entertainment options. Popular nightlife areas include the Las Vegas Strip, Downtown Las Vegas, and the Fremont East District.
Similar to Las Vegas, Cancun does have a reputation for being a revellers paradise, but this idyllic beach destination is definitely family-friendly, too! You won’t struggle to find a family-friendly hotel, and many of them are perfectly placed on the beachfront. Lots of accommodation options also run their own entertainment programs, with choices for kids of all ages - from games and activities, to mini discos in the evenings.
The inviting, warm, turquoise waters in Cancun are great for a whole array of watersports, so you can try something new. You’ll find snorkelling sessions and plenty of scuba diving instructors if you want to explore beneath the waves, and the sea bed is home to a diverse spectrum of marine life. If you’re an aqua daredevil, then put your bravery to the test with a spot of parasailing or jet skiing, or change the pace with some paddleboarding.
While the Hotel Zone in Cancun is lively, you can definitely find a tranquil retreat away from the non-stop party atmosphere that this stretch is known for. In fact, our Cancun multi-centre holidays aren’t complete without a trip to some of the quieter, more secluded beaches. If you’re looking to do nothing but lounge around, head to the likes of Playa Delfines, Playa Tortugas, and Playa Marlin - they’re all ideal for the more ‘low-key’ beach days you’ve got in mind.
For Las Vegas, you’ll need layers if you’re visiting during spring or autumn as the mild weather can often feel colder when you’re walking around, and temperatures will definitely drop in the evening. If you’re visiting during the summer, then plenty of shorts and t-shirts will be perfect, as sweltering highs will be on the forecast.
Cancun is a beach destination, and the delightful Caribbean climate warrants having lots of swimwear and breathable clothing. A hat and sunglasses will be suitcase essentials for your entire trip, as they’ll help to keep sunstroke at bay.
Lastly, comfortable shoes are a must - whether it’s your go-to trainers or a sturdy pair of sandals, you’ll be doing a lot of exploring so you need the right footwear for the day ahead.
