THE SHOPPING 
You can buy anything from Native American jewellery and cowboy boots to fine art and designer labels in Arizona. Scottsdale is well-known as a retail Mecca, and has both high-end fashion and flagship stores at its famous Fashion Square, as well as high street names at its other malls. Art lovers should head to the galleries of the Marshall Way Arts District. 
 

THE GOLF 
Anyone who likes to work on their swing will be spoilt for choice. This may be the desert, but there's over 200 courses in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area alone - so there's no reason why you shouldn't go home with an improved handicap. Many of the courses have spectacular settings, with the desert providing a stunning backdrop. 
 

THE MUSEUMS 
From art to aeroplanes, there's plenty to keep you interested on Arizona holidays. THE DESERT 
Getting out into the desert, whether it's by car, on foot, or on horseback, is essential. There's fantastic landscapes to savour, especially at sunset, and getting your picture taken next to a giant saguaro cactus is a must. THE NIGHTLIFE
