With affordable options for every budget, there's simply no excuse to not visit New York! If you're unsure of where to start, how about taking a deep dive into the history of great monuments, people-watching from the top of a tour bus, or finding new vegan food spots? No matter what you're into, you'll be inspired to create some unforgettable memories.
Don't wait to discover the beauty of a city break. Book your next New York stay with us and experience a holiday like no other.
Brooklyn Bridge
Towering over the East River of New York, stands the Brooklyn Bridge. Open since 1883, the suspension bridge connects the popular boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn and millions of people each year come to visit this elevated walkway. You can also pop over to either side of the bridge to experience trendy bars, irresistible food, and scenic views across the waters.
Times Square
Times Square is an iconic tourist destination, known for its dazzling lights and spectacular shows. We've all seen it in movies, so why not feel it in real life? From delicious dining to endless selfie spots to simply freely walking around the area, its buzzing atmosphere will take your New York holiday to the next level.
Central Park
A holiday to New York wouldn't be complete without escaping for some nature. Amongst the skyscraper buildings, Central Park is an urban park located in the heart of New York City. This natural attraction even has various tours and events held in the park throughout the year. We recommend learning more about its history on the Seneca Village Tour or taking a hike through the Ramble.
Flat Iron Building
New York City is renowned for its vast number of skyscrapers. But do you know which one was built first? It was the phenomenal Flat Iron Building. Formerly known as the Fuller Building, it has almost slipped under the tourist radar. Seemingly floating between the famous streets of Fifth Avenue and Broadway, its triangular shape is a must-see hidden gem.
Empire State Building
The Empire State Building needs no introduction – especially to any Alicia Keys fans. Still, here’s a little reminder of its interesting history. Located in Midtown Manhattan, this 102-story skyscraper was the first building with 100 floors and the tallest building in the world for nearly 40 years. Yet its breathtaking views from the top are equally matched by its exterior which was based on the shape of a pencil.
American Dream
Let's take a slight step away from the hustle and bustle of New York City and into New Jersey. Here, you can find a 3 million sq. ft indoor entertainment venue that’s perfect for a family day out. Called American Dream, it’s every kid’s dream come true, offering thrilling rides based on movies such as Shrek, Kungfu Panda, and many family favourites.
One World Observatory
If you don't have enough time to visit all the sites of NYC, you can always see them all at once at the One World Observatory. In just 47 seconds, you'll be able to witness astonishing 360° views and spot all the famous attractions of the Big Apple. Better yet, for a truly breath-taking experience, we recommend visiting when the sun is setting.
The Ride Bus Tour
See New York City in a whole new light, by surprisingly seeing it at night! Reopening in Spring 2023, The Ride Bus Tour is an entertaining theatrical experience exploring the hotspots of the city. And when even the streets are a stage, you have the best seats in the house. Led by hilarious hosts, this experience is ideal for those looking for a unique way to tour New York.
MoMA
The Museum of Modern Art is a place fuelled with creativity and inspiration. Art lovers from across the globe can witness pieces from Picasso, Van Gogh, Warhol, and other world-famous artists. Located in midtown Manhattan, it was the first museum devoted to the modern era and is a timeless experience whenever you plan to visit.
Apollo Theatre
The soul of American culture lives within the wall of the Apollo Theatre. The not-for-profit music hall is home to theatrical and dance performances, concerts, educational outreach programs, and more. Established in 1913, it has been significant in African American representation within the creative industry for decades.
New York Philharmonic
To add some sophistication to your stay, experience the New York Philharmonic. Named as one of the leading Big Five orchestras in the US, it will add a skip to your step for days after your visit. Filled with harmonious sounds from musicians from different walks of life, it's the perfect way to slow down, breathe out, and take in the beauty of American culture.
Cotton Club
It wouldn't be a trip to New York without indulging in the nightlife – and the Cotton Club is a legendary space. Once a nightclub during the Prohibition and era of racial segregation, it has now transformed into a renowned Jazz Club. Here, you can let your hair down with a unique dining experience, an array of drinks, and exceptional live music in the heart of New York City.
Bagels
Bagels are a serious subject in New York. Considered a worthy breakfast or a lunch treat, a Big Apple bagel is claimed by locals to be the best in the world – and they're not wrong! You'll be amazed at the variety of bagel options available to you. From cinnamon raisins to poppy seeds, you'll be sure to find the perfect bagel for you at dedicated eateries throughout the city.
Pizza
If you haven't eaten pizza in Italy, experiencing a pizzeria in New York is the next best thing. Italian immigrants brought their pizza recipes to the city all the way back in 1900. Since then, the New York locals have placed their delicious twist on the famous dish. You can even take part in a pizza walking tour around the city – we’re sure that counts as an ‘active holiday’!
Fine Dining
You won't be short of places to experience fine dining when you visit New York. Home to 73 Michelin-star restaurants, it is safe to say that New Yorkers know their food. Experience all that the city has to offer, at The Musket Room, Atera, Marea and more. Enjoy every bite of the delicious food as you eat till your heart is content.
Vegan Spots
It's not all meat and dairy in New York City. There are over 1000 Vegan restaurants and cafes to choose from on your next trip. Explore a variety of cuisines that may surprise you in places such as; Beyond Sushi, Modern Love, and Screamer's Pizzeria. Make sure to plan which spots you'd like to visit first as most restaurants are spread right across the city.

New York has endless things to see, do and taste, no matter the time of day. From iconic hotels to soaring skyscrapers, you’ll pinch yourself to see if you’re dreaming! New York is rich in culture with a multitude of art galleries and museums to visit during your stay and of course the Broadway musicals. We don’t envy the tough decision of which musical you see; they are all so fantastic! Also known for its shopping and dining experiences, New York has a variety of dishes to get your taste buds tingling. Try a classic American dish like chicken and waffles in one of many authentic diners, or head to little Italy, a district with some of the best pizza available.
If you’re craving a New York getaway and already have in mind the places you want to visit most, we can make your dreams a reality. Want to Stay close to Times Square and spend the day in Central Park? We can make that happen just for you.
UK visitors travelling to New York for tourist reasons do not need a visa if their stay is under 90 days. However, you must apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before your New York holiday. This is part of the US Visa Waiver Program and can be easily applied for online. Ensure you apply at least 72 hours before departure to avoid any last-minute complications and to guarantee it arrives in time before boarding.
New York City might be known as ‘The City that Never Sleeps’, but even if some of your group have 8pm bedtimes, there’s still plenty to explore. New York family holidays promise cultural finds, hands-on exploration and outdoor fun.
We recommend the iconic Central Park for young families, featuring not only natural beauty but 21 playgrounds, including the Ancient Playground, an Egyptian inspired complex. Central Park Zoo will also delight all ages with snow leopards, grizzly bears, and more than 70 penguins spread across the 7-acre site. It also wouldn’t be a holiday to New York without visiting the Statue of Liberty. It’s even fun to get there. You can take the family on a ferry ride across to Liberty Island for the best views from the ground up (Just make sure to book your tickets well in advance).

Yes, tipping is customary in New York and is an essential part of the service industry. For restaurants, it’s typical to tip between 15-20% of your bill before tax. Taxi drivers usually expect 10-15%, and hotel staff such as bellhops or housekeeping appreciate tips ranging from $1-$5 depending on the service. Be prepared to account for these expenses in your New York City break budget.
New York is 5 hours behind the UK, following Eastern Standard Time (EST). For example, if it’s 3 PM in London, it will be 10 AM in New York. During daylight saving time (March to November), this time difference remains the same, but the clocks change on slightly different dates in the US compared to the UK.
New York is served by three major airports:
● John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK): Located in Queens, JFK is the primary international gateway for most UK flights.
● Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR): Located in New Jersey, Newark is another popular option with easy access to Manhattan.
● LaGuardia Airport (LGA): Primarily serving domestic flights, LaGuardia is an option if you’re connecting to other US destinations.
We offer holidays to New York that include flights to and from these airports, ensuring convenience for your travel plans.
New York is a year-round destination, with each season offering unique experiences:
● Spring (March-May): Ideal for mild weather and blooming parks.
● Summer (June-August): Vibrant events, though temperatures can be hot and humid.
● Autumn (September-November): Cooler temperatures and stunning autumnal foliage make this a poular time to visit.
● Winter (December-February): Perfect for holiday decorations and ice skating, but be prepared for cold weather.
We can help you tailor your visit based on your preferred activities and budget.
Absolutely! While most visitors focus on Manhattan, New York has five boroughs to explore: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island.
We also offer New York multi-centre holidays, allowing you to combine your New York trip with other destinations, such as Boston, Washington, or even an extended stay in Florida.
To see the key attractions, we recommend staying for at least 4-5 days. This gives you enough time to explore landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, and Central Park, while also enjoying some of the city’s world-class dining and shopping. For a more in-depth experience or to explore beyond Manhattan, a 7-day stay would be ideal.
If you’re ready to book your holiday to New York, get in touch and we will assist with flights, accommodations, and bespoke itineraries tailored to your preferences.
