One of the biggest draws to Marco Island the stunning climate which makes watersports and beach days a must. There are plenty of opportunities to take a boat out for a spot of fishing, enjoy a canoe trip or even kite surfing. For those a little more adventurous, Collier Seminole State Park is close by and offers camping hiking and wildlife spotting.

Relax in Marco Island
If you’re ready for a whirlwind adventure, it’s time to pack your bags for Marco Island. Located on the Gulf Coast, this sunny slice of paradise is a must-see destination. From pristine beaches to scenic nature trails to delectable dining options, holiday bliss awaits from the moment you step off the plane. The only thing left to decide is where to visit first. Thankfully, as experts on all things Florida, we can help you craft your ideal holiday in a matter of minutes - so let's get started…
Tigertail Beach
Tigertail Beach is renowned as one of the most popular beaches on Marco Island. You won't find many tigers roaming around here but, you will find a uniquely shaped sandbar that curls around a natural lagoon and resembles a tiger's tail. Formed only 16 years ago after Hurricane Wilma, its pristine white sands and warm waters will impress even the most seasoned traveller. What’s more, you will find fantastic facilities including ample parking, a playground, picnic areas, and concession stands.
South Marco Beach
If you find the shore too crowded over at Tigertail, you can always head over to South Marco Beach. The northern part of the beach is called Sand Dollar Island, where you can often share the shore with only exotic birds in sight. This public beach is also great for families due to the number of activities available. From dolphin watching, shelling, or an adventure tour, this beach will not disappoint young and old alike.
Historical Museum
Think of Florida and you think of fun indoors - think again. Visit the Historical Museum in Marco Island and be prepared for a day full of culture and excitement. Here, you can explore Marco Island’s agricultural history where fishing and clamming were everyday life - all whilst learning more about the indigenous population of its past known as the Calusa people. This vanished civilization is brought back to life with informative displays and a recreated village scene.
Marco Island Center For Arts
For a day full of sophistication, the Marco Island Center For Arts is a great place to start. Suitable for the whole family, you can find fascinating art by local and regional Florida artists around every corner. Not to mention the number of events, artist meet and greets, art classes, and more on offer throughout the year.
Seafood and Music Festival
If you plan your trip to Marco Island in late March, you'll be in for a treat. The popular Seafood and Music Festival is perfect for foodies. Over three days, you can experience the island’s most celebrated cuisines - including Southwest Florida’s world-famous Stone Crab and “Pink Gold” jumbo shrimp, caught fresh from the Gulf of Mexico. Better yet, you can enjoy great music from talented musicians, ensuring you awaken your senses.
Farmers Market
For those staying in a villa between November and April, head down to the Farmers Market to ensure your homecooked meals are always fresh. Located in Mackle Park, you'll be able to find unique produce from locally grown sources.
Otter Mound Preserve
Step into a whole new world at the Otter Mound Preserve. Here, you can wander along the trails and encounter an array of tropical wildlife - such as gopher tortoises, raccoons, armadillos, and if you're lucky a bobcat! The Preserve also boasts a rich archaeological history, with mounds from the centuries-old Calusa tribe still present.
Sunset Fire Dancing
If the Florida sun isn't hot enough for you, Sunset Fire Dancing is sure to heat up your trip. Every night in the J. W. Marriott, you can watch the beach light up as dancers twirl batons of fire to the rhythm of the drums. We also recommend grabbing a drink or two at Kane's Tiki Bar at the hotel before the show!
Marco Island Holidays

Marco Island Holidays
The largest of Florida’s surrounding islands is bursting with excellent pastimes to fill your days, including beautiful beaches to relax on, rare wildlife to admire like dolphins, bald eagles and other rare species, boat charters and a ton of golf courses to test your swing on.
A gorgeous island off the coast of Florida wouldn’t be so gorgeous without its own collection of white-sand beaches for you to relax on. Thankfully Marco Island is lined completely with a bunch of quality beachfronts to relax on and soak up those rays.
The main hot-spot for beach-lovers is Tigertail Beach, which includes a beautiful plain of sandy shores where you can admire dolphins dancing in the distance and maybe get involved in some watersports. Why not tear up the waves on a jet ski? Or soar sky-high with some parasailing? Even if you want to take part in the action in a more leisurely fashion, you can simply take a paddleboard or kayak out and sail the seas at your own pace.
Boating
Sail away from paradise into the horizon, in your own privately rented boat. On Marco Island boating is a big deal, and it’s easy to see why. The scenic position facing out over the Gulf of Mexico, the beautifully manicured golden shores and incredible weather make boating a sheer pleasure. Local charters offer an array of vessels to commandeer including sports, pontoon and fishing boats, so you can set sail on just the right ship for you.
Golf
Golf is almost tradition in Florida, and Marco Island is no exception. Marco Island is home to two public golf courses for you to test your swing on, with scores more around the surrounding area if you want to venture off the island.
Private courses for resort residents are also in the area too, like the Marco Island Marriott Resort which boasts the well-acclaimed Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club and The Rookery courses. Tee off across well-manicured fairways with Florida’s gorgeous weather giving you all the right vibes for a relaxing game.
