For those of you who like lashings of water with your adrenalin-fuelled thrill rides, Wet ‘n Wild is due to open the floodgates to its new high-speed attraction, aptly named Aqua Drag Racer, this summer.
What’s the buzz?
According to Wet ‘n Wild’s Senior Vice President and GM, Michael Black, “The new Aqua Drag Racer will pull guests into a high-speed thrill ride unlike any other around. This ride combines friendly competition along with the excitement of sharing the rush with family and friends.”
How tall and how fast?
Aqua Drag Racer is an impressive 6 storey-high ride that provides an exhilarating downward plummet to the finish. Obviously this is not for the feint hearted or those with a phobia of heights, but for those of you who embrace fearless abandonment and love to be pushed to the limit instead.
The ride claims to speed riders through its maze of tunnels at fifteen feet per second. Basically, there’s no turning back mid ride.
How does it work?
Wet ‘n Wild’s new attraction is a mat ride, which means you take on the Aqua Drag Racer head first. It begins in the enclosed, colourful, intertwining tunnels before opening out into parallel racing lanes to reveal your competitors. These lanes will sport the black and white chequered flag motif synonymous with racing sports and deliver you and your competitors to the finish line with a big splash.
