The coolest joint to eat Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant has tasty food and shows retro movies. Below, we talk you through this quirky eatery.
As you enter, you’re greeted with a parking lot filled with classic cars transformed into booths, and a large screen playing spooky sci-fi clips. Just like a real drive-in, marvel at the scenic decor, plus the cars positioned in front of the screen. It’s quite dark in the restaurant, which sets the mood and allows you to see the goofy sci-fi movies in their full glory. Despite the cheesiness of the clips, all the films shown in the restaurant are real!
The Food
The menu at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, as you can expect, is all-American with favourites like burgers and ribs. It’s the perfect type of comfort food as you watch attacking aliens, rampaging robots and ravaging mummies on the silver screen. We recommend the Fried Dill Pickles served with Ranch Dipping Sauce and the Southern Burger, both are mouth-wateringly good. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, in busier times, it’s also open for breakfast. Prices are a little higher than in quick service restaurants, however, it is the perfect mid-day escape from the heat.
Grown-up diners should pick a cosmic concoction, choose from Magical Star Cocktail or the Orbiting Oreos with glow in the dark ice cubes. There’s also the usual beers, wines and soft drinks on offer. Split a dessert with your date, the Out-Of-This-World Turtle Cheesecake is to die for, trust us. Younger guests will go crazy for the Ariel or Buzz Lightyear Punch which comes in a glowing souvenir cup. Everyone will love the indulgent milk shakes, a classic on any American diner menu.
