Harambe Nights Street Parties at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Beginning on the 7^th June 2014, a Harambe Nights Street Party will feature every Saturday up until the 9^th August and they are sure to attract a diverse audience. With the event taking place in Disney Animal Kingdom’s Harambe Village from 7pm, this unique experience will immerse guests in a culturally- stimulating atmosphere which is sure to deliver on both taste and entertainment.

The Harambe Theatre will host the never-seen-before performance of ‘The Lion King: Concert in the Wild’ featuring a superb choir and orchestra as well as an array of dancers and celebrity guest narrators.

Yet it is the African-inspired feast, allowing you to revel in a refined authentic culinary experience, which makes Harambe Nights so inventive and spectacular from some other evening events in Orlando.

The Welcome Reception between 7.00-7.30pm invites you to sample a delicious number of appetisers that include a safari cheeseburger slider with tomato curry aioli and Moroccan beef kefta with tamarind glaze. Of course there’s also African-inspired wine and beer to wash it all done with.

After this brief reception, guests are invited to watch the show with the added bonus of a selection of nibbles that include cardamom candied pecans, sea-salted pretzel chips and golden raisins. After the show, brace yourself for the whole event to liven up as the street party kicks into action with live music, performers and characters entertaining the crowd, as well as a number of delicious savoury dishes on offer.

The chefs have worked tirelessly to create a menu that delivers on authenticity, appearance and flavour. Your taste buds will be tantalised by the various dishes which include a surf and turf selection that includes coriander chutney roasted potatoes and line-caught corvina filet with goan curry sauce.

Enjoy a selection of fresh cooked breads, salads and other side dishes as well as a varied sweet menu that features a number of exciting snacks including caramel salted Tanzania chocolate Kenya coffee bite, golden pineapple with toasted coconut and apple slices with Amarula caramel sauce.

There are also slow-cook action stations which will feature fork-tender peri barbecued pork, vegetarian eggplant tikka masala curry served over creamy goat cheese pap, vegetarian legume wat served over basmati rice and butter chicken thighs, which may all just steal the show!
