Research shows nearly half (43%) of British travellers want to visit the States for their next getaway, with more than a quarter (29%) wanting to tick ‘stand in the middle of New York Times Square’ off their bucket list.¹

Yet whilst we love popular destinations like the Big Apple as much as anyone, we also know that US travel dreams can be fulfilled far and wide.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to avoid huge crowds or want some unique stops for a multi-centre trip across America, our holiday experts at Ocean Florida can help you plan a truly bespoke itinerary. In this guide, Natalie Sexton, Head of Brand, and Abby Dunn, Marketing Manager, share their favourite US hidden gems for you to explore…

Tucked away on the Emerald Coast, Destin, Florida, is the perfect place for those looking for a relaxing, beach setting, thanks to its white sands and crystal clear waters.

Adventure enthusiasts are also drawn to this stunning destination though, as it boasts a world-class fishing status and a state park with breath-taking hiking trails.

With stunning villas available for a variety of needs and price points, the serenity doesn’t need to end when you leave the beach either.

“If resting really isn’t your thing though, visitors can head to Henderson Beach State Park and embark on a hike along the pristine coastline, or take advantage of the deep sea fishing, which offers the chance to troll for tuna, swordfish and red snappers.

“To wind down at the end of the day, visitors can head to Destin Harbour Boardwalk - a great place to shop, dine and enjoy the sunset. Or, for a truly unique experience, you can check out Crab Island’s unique floating tiki bars, offering the chance to swim in sparkling waters before taking a seat at the bar of this on-the-water hotspot.”
