If you arrive via the airport, calculate a 20-minute drive into your journey from Orlando International Airport or a 35-minute drive from Sanford Airport. Upon arrival, you will have an access card for quick and easy entry through the 24/7 guarded gatehouse. At the friendly reception area of the clubhouse, you can check-in and ask any remaining questions about your stay, such as where to visit first.
After all, in addition to its natural beauty, the resort lies within close proximity to entertainment hubs. Within 4 miles, you can be at the main gates of
World Disney World. And in only 20 minutes, you can drive to
Universal Studios Florida and
Universal's Island of Adventure. In just single-digit minutes, you can reach banks, supermarkets, golf courts, restaurants and more for all your holiday needs. For example, you can find Walmart, a pharmacy, and a fuel station within 2.5 miles.

Are there transport facilities at Emerald Island Resort?
There are two main options to get around -
car hire or shuttle buses. Although the resort doesn’t recommend a particular transport service to the nearby attractions, there are transport services available for an additional fee.
The shuttles of Maingate Transportation operate daily to the main entrance of Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld and Aquatica at prescheduled times, and the rides are shared with other guests from the Emerald Island Resort. Other transport services can take you to Animal Kingdom, EPCOT or coastal resorts. Ride Share services like Uber and Lyft are also accessible from the resort. If your group exceeds 6 people, it may be advantageous to hire a private van for greater flexibility.
How far is Emerald Island Resort from Orlando theme parks?
All theme parks are just a quick drive away. Walt Disney World Resort is 11 miles away, and 4 miles from World Disney’s Main entrance. Within 16 miles you will reach SeaWorld Orlando and 18 miles to Universal Orlando Resort. 
Can I fish at Emerald Island Resort?
Emerald Island Resort does not allow fishing in its lakes, although you can find many lakes for fishing nearby.
