There are so many reasons to consider booking your Florida holiday during the Easter holidays. The first is it’s a perfect opportunity to jet off when the kids aren’t at school. With two weeks off, you have the ideal window to experience the Sunshine State without having to worry about taking them out of school. However, it’s not just the 2 week break which makes Florida a fantastic destination to visit during Easter.
The weather
During the summer months, temperatures can reach up to 33°C in Orlando and humidity is much higher than in the months of March and April. As much as we love the hot weather when we go abroad, some of us might find this a little too hot, especially when strolling around the theme parks during the midday heat. With temperatures averaging at around 20°C during Easter and with less rainfall, the weather is considered more bearable than in summer but still presents an opportunity to head back to the UK with that glowing holiday tan.
Cost and flights
Many holidaymakers are surprised by their quotes for Easter in comparison to summer. There are some real bargains to be had during the Easter holidays if you book early enough and look out for those eye-catching special offers. Indirect flights may be the best option if you’re on a tight budget but some fantastic prices can also be found on direct flights from some of the UK’s major airports to Orlando, Tampa or Miami with airlines Virgin Atlantic and/or British Airways.
Festive fun
One thing you can guarantee in Orlando during Easter is festive fun and activities. The theme parks are always willing to join in the festivities whatever the time of year and this is highlighted by Disney’s Egg Stravaganza at their Epcot theme park. However, Orlando isn’t the only city celebrating this festive season. Expect Easter hunts, bunnies and parades all around Florida in destinations such as Miami and the Gulf Coast. Children love Easter, so why not experience it in Florida and make it an Easter they’ll never forget.
