The Brightline Experience
Brightline stations are brand new and purpose-built, offering an airport-style experience.
You can enjoy touchless turnstiles accessible via smartphones, relax in premium lounges complete with snacks, and enjoy complimentary in-station Wi-Fi.
On board, Brightline goes above and beyond to provide world-class amenities. There are two classes: Smart or Premium, offering something for everyone. The Smart Fare delivers free onboard Wi-Fi, large hand-stitched reclinable leather seats, and multiple power outlets beside every chair.
Better yet, children aged between 2 - 12 years get 50% off Smart Fares, and infants under 2 can always travel for free.
Before boarding, what separates the Premium Fare are the unlimited snacks and two alcoholic drinks. On-board, Premium perks also include one snack pack per trip, unlimited sweet and savoury snacks throughout the trip, unlimited non-alcoholic drinks, and one alcoholic drink between destinations (e.g., Miami to Fort Lauderdale). What’s more, Premium Fares provide wider seats with extra legroom for total relaxation.
One-way Smart fares start at $79 for adults and $39 for kids. One-way Premium fares start at $149.
Whichever train class you choose, young families will be pleased to know that strollers, car seats, and booster seats can be carried on board and won’t count toward your carry-on allowance. Families can also sit together at selected double-facing seats of four.
When your journey begins, you will reach speeds of up to 130mph, making Brightline officially the fastest train in Florida.
Brightline’s Accessibility
We are delighted to confirm that all Brightline trains and stations are fully ADA-accessible - this includes level boarding to accommodate wheelchair users.
To get to and from the stations, Brightline+ is on hand. In collaboration with Uber, you can request a car ride when purchasing your train ticket. The pickup time will automatically align with your train’s schedule, and your pre-booked Brightline+ ride will be ready and waiting for you.
The New Orlando to Miami Route
Brightline launched in 2018 as an inter-city rail system between Miami and West Palm Beach with a stop in Fort Lauderdale.
However, the new route from Orlando International Airport to Miami is sure to be an even bigger hit with UK tourists. The service is set to begin in September 2023 with stops in Aventura and Boca Raton. Previously, the journey would take approximately 6 to 7.5 hours on board a Silver Meteor or Amtrak Silver Star train. Now, the 235-mile ride between MCO and Miami can be completed in a cool 3 hours.
The flight between MCO and Miami is just one hour, however, when you factor in the pre-flight wait times, Brightline could still end up quicker – without the stress of flying.
Currently, there are 16 round trips scheduled daily. The first southbound departure from
Orlando to Miami starts at 05:00 until 20:50 and ends at 20:50.
